Why do they always sew the pockets shut on business pants?

I am talking about the professional pants that most everyone has to wear at work. They come with the back pockets sewn shut all the time…
I don’t know if they do it for Men’s pants, but almost every pair of slacks I buy as a lady have them sewn shut.

They do it in men’s jackets and blazers.
The reason they do it is so the clothes don’t lose their shape before they are bought by people trying them on and jamming their hands in the pockets.

I don’t like back pockets on my slacks because sometimes they get hooked on things and make them stretch or rip. Also, if you look at a woman’s pants wtih back pockets you can sometimes see the lining.

It prevents the pants from losing shape while they’re hanging in the store.
It’s not only on pants, but coats and jackets as well.

They do that so the pockets dont stretch when people try them on. Just take the stitches out, problem solved

I guess it is standard so dust doesnt get into the pockets.
