I’m a hair stylist and I’m getting some new cards made. I want to convey the message that I like to do bright colors. How would I phrase that? I like to natural colors as well, so I will also be putting "dimensional color" as a specialty. People like the word "dimensional" :) What would like to see on a card that would convince you to choose a certain person to do your crazy color?
I’m 16 & I’ll be 17 this year, so I’ve been thinking a lot about my future. My dream is to become a hair stylist/makeup artist, and I also want to own my own beauty salon some day. I would like to go to beauty school, but I also want to go to college and major in business or finance so I can manage a business. Are those the right things to major in if I want to open my own salon? & Should I go to beauty school first, then go to college while I’m working as a cosmetologist.. or should I go to college first & then beauty school?
I want my salon to include;
hair – styling, cutting, dying, highlights, perming, extensions, relaxing, etc.
makeup – theater, prom, wedding, & photoshoot makeup. I’d also like to hold makeup classes for anyone in the community wanting to learn more about it.
nails – manicures/pedicures, everything.
waxing – facial & body waxing.
tanning – tanning beds & spray tans.

I’m looking for a flexible day that will allow me to go at night. I’m in beauty school I want to be hair stylist. I’m currently bill collector and I hate it. The pay is good, but the people and the hours are horrible. I need a job that pays between .00 and .00 dollars. I live in cincinnati, ohio.
okay so i have pretty great grades and im about to graduate highschool with an A.P. status along with dual enrollment held by my name….its exciting but i have 6 career goals in mind and i need some very specific information on each of these ideas:
-laywer
-wedding planner
-interior designer
-magzine editior
-fashion/consultant/editior/stylist
-hair stylist
i love to do all of these but if i truly want to make a decision i need to get down to business.
so here are my questions:
how much does each career make:whats their average salary??
how far could i go in any of these feilds and what are the benfits??
and how many years of college to they require??
if you could anwser any one of these questions for me i would greatly appreciate it:)
Basically… I’m a hair stylist. I make good money but I pay the owner of the salon rent so I can rent space and then she pays the landlord the monthly rent to run the entire business. The owner who owns the salon was evicted so I was out of work for 2 weeks dealing with moving to our new location. I got a 2nd job on top of the salon to make ends meet. I work hard, I cook at home, I dont go shopping, I dont spend money except on gas, groceries and bills. I’ve been married for 2 years NO KIDS and my husband works for UPS but doesnt make much since they start everyone part time until they move up to become driver. Then he’ll make a lot. He is doing very well at his job but he is having trouble finding a 2nd job. I feel that this is a vicious cycle of not having any money to save after bills are paid.. we keep track of every penny we spend and we live on a budget and still… It makes me work harder, its a motivation for both of us to get through this.
I’ve been strong and so has my huband but things are getting to me right now. How did you cope with tough times? Dont get me wrong, I am glad to be going through these tough times because I am learning so much about myself. Thats why we havent had kids yet because we want to have kids when the time is right. I lose sleep on this because I keep thinking about it. I just wonder when ends will meet again. I would just love to be able to go buy myself a new shirt or go to a nice dinner with my husband. I’m feeling miserable right now, I guess I’ve kept this inside and have no one to talk to. We still live with my parents and pay them an affordable rent because we cant afford an apartment. What did you do to get through your hardest financial struggle? I look on my bank statement and we only use our money to pay bills and go to the grocery store and fill our cars.. any words of hope would be appreciated! :*(
